Samā Hearing.
This journey began with a member of my community in Sri Lanka reaching out for assistance with a sudden hearing loss. Through the donation of a hearing device to help her, she was able to continue living the life that she wanted to without the barrier of communication. It was from this stepping stone that I looked deeper into audiology in Sri Lanka to find the disparity in funding, support and hearing health initiatives compared to Australia. In countries like Australia, we have more than enough resources, opportunities and technology to assist those with hearing loss. Even with the smallest acts, we can impact in meaningful ways. My name is Rangi Rodrigo and I have been learning, working and impacting as an Audiologist in Australia for over a decade. I have worked in private clinics and public hospitals working with culturally diverse individuals with hearing loss and communication problems. Bringing people together and giving them the power to connect with their community is my passion.
